Last October, one of my favourite UK independent fashion brands ran a competition to find a face for their clothing line. Brighton-based Dollydagger received a whopping 118 entries and shortlisted 8 finalists, but the whole thing was so much fun that they’re planning on doing it all over again!
“When we launched the competition in 2012 we had planned for 5 finalists, with a back up plan just in case we didn’t get 5 entries! How wrong we were!
Last year’s winner Hannah; a regular girl from Brighton, with no modelling experience or aspirations was our winner. Classically pretty, down to earth, with a great personality and a size 14 figure we picked Hannah because she represented the Dollydagger brand perfectly.”
This year the competition runs from 1st to 31st October and Dollydagger are looking for women (over 18 years of age) with a strong personality and their own sense of style, who are not afraid of the camera and have what it takes to be a photographic model. The competition is free to enter and the first round of voting will take place on Facebook, with the general public voting for the first 8 finalists. The overall winner will be chosen by three judges: Emma Ayres, Managing Director and Owner of Dollydagger; Simon Flamson, Manager of Dollydagger’s Brighton Boutique; and Hannah Carrick (pictured above), Winner of Dollydagger Model Search 2012.
Keep an eye on the Dollydagger blog for full details (including terms and conditions) when the competition is formally announced on 23rd September 2013.
